Riders of Team KaKa Racing

Bill Callister
Bill Callister

A corporal in the Marines, Bill has to weave a racing career around his service commitments, which take him to many distant parts.

A motocross rider from the age of 14 and a contemporary of Louise Kennedy in the Isle of Man , Bill could hardly fail to be attracted to road racing, living as he did in the Road Racing Centre of the world.

He is not the first rider to approach road racing from off road experience. The purchase of an R1 and attendant risks of speeding fines and loss of licences similarly encouraged  him to take up racing: in his own words; "it's safer than the roads, and there are no coppers!" His initial target was, starting in 2004, to get racing experience and be able to ride in the 2006 Manx Grand Prix. He acheive this in 2005.

Since competing in the Manx Grand Prix, the love of racing Roads over Circuits took hold and Bill has raced at numerous different road venues, including the Southern 100, Jurby Road and the famous Dundrod circuit in Northern Ireland. In 2009 Bill is hoping to compete in the TT.

Tony Callister
Tony Callister

A former Royal Marine, Tony recently graduated from the United State Marines. He currently live in in Jacksonville North Carolina having moved from Jacksonville Florida, Tony took up road racing back in 2006. Like Bill he put his heart and soul into it, with his aim being to get to the Manx GP as quickly as possible.

In his first season, Tony had some very promising results, where he finished in the top 5 at nearly every meeting. Nicknamed the "Rainman" after an exceptional ride in what can only be described as a monsoon, where he actually had his first win at Miami Homestead and was awarded a throphy nearly bigger than he is.

Before he could ride at the Manx, Tony had to ride in the Expert Class, unlike racing in the UK, Tony found himself now racing AMA racers, where he found things very difficult.

In 2007 Tony took part in his first road race meetings ever. Although from the Isle of Man, there is no such racing in the States. His first taste of this was the Ulster GP, where again Tony attacked in his usual, No Holds Barred manner, and qaulified 2 places further up the grid than Bill, which also saw a better finish.

Jeff Booth
Jeff Booth

Thanks to the on going support of his family, Jeff's dream of racing has become a reality. Back in 2002, after a crash on the public roads, Jeff bought back his Kawasaki ZX7R off of his insurance company and decided to started racing.

His first race ended in disaster, with a novice mistake which ended with him writting off his own fork leg (Not throught a crash either) After another few meetings, Jeff realised that his bike just wasnt up to the task of racing in the Pro Bike Open, as all his competitors were on 1000cc machines.

So he opted to join them and baught himself a 1000. Unfortunately this too ended badly, with Jeff suffering a broken rib, damaged shoulder and a blood clott in his calf muscle.

Once recovered and the burning passion of racing never leaving him, Jeff decided to come back to the 600 class for another go.

In 2007 Jeff took his racing a little more seriously and competed on a regular basis, which later saw him join Kaka Racing.

In 2009 he is competing in the Thundersport GB Championship.

Tony Bakker

Tony is former US Marine and Air Force Reservist with a passion for motorcycles.  He has been riding for almost 30 years, 16 of those he was drag-racing motorcycles at various locations in the United States and Britsh Columbia.

He is currently a novice level racer Washington Motorcycle Road Racing Association and is working toward his expert license.

Tony is known to his fellow forum friends as "MadManx".  This nickname comes from his fascination and passion for Real Road Racing on the Isle of Man and in Ireland.  It has been his dream for almost 30 years to visit the Isle of Man and to participate in the Real Road races.  He has achieved one part of that dream with a visit to the Isle of Man in July 2008.  He got a one-on-one tour and tutorial on the TT course from Bill Callister and got to see the racing up close and personal.  It only "stoked the fire" within him to get to the racing part of his dream.  Stay tuned, it's only a matter of time before you will see Tony in real road races or the Manx GP.

Jon Lightbowne
Jon Lightbowne

Back in 2005, Jon had enough of watching, Supporting and helping Bill. He wanted to ride himself. Which he took up for one season only.

In that season, he knocked up a very successfull run at every event he entered, finishing in the top 5 nearly every race. Like the rest of us, his wallet took a hammering and he had to retire.

Both Jon and Bill plan to race an endurance bike in 2008, in the KRC Endurance Championship

Steve, or Foddlington to those that know him, lives in Adelaide, Austrailia. Despite having many road bikes in his life, he decide some time ago to take up Motocross.

With probably one of the best Motocross tracks the team has seen, only 7 minutes from his house, it was only a matter of time time before he would start racing.
